About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring and influential Vice-Chair to join the Glasgow Life Board and help shape the next chapter of one of Scotland’s leading cultural and sporting organisations.
Working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and fellow Board members, you will provide strategic leadership, champion Glasgow Life’s mission and values, and help ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, well governed and focused on delivering lasting impact.
You will also be a passionate advocate and ambassador for Glasgow Life, building strong relationships with government, funders, partners and key influencers, and helping to raise the profile of Glasgow’s culture, sport and leisure offer nationally and internationally.

About You
We are looking for a dynamic, credible and communicative leader who can build trust, bring strategic insight and champion Glasgow Life with passion and conviction.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong influence, networks and the confidence to act as an ambassador for Glasgow Life.
- Experience of strategic planning, resource management and organisational leadership.
- The ability to analyse complex issues, challenge constructively and balance competing perspectives.
- An interest in, or understanding of, culture, sport, leisure or the charity sector.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The highest standards of integrity and honesty.
- A genuine passion for Glasgow and its people.
We particularly welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds, including those currently underrepresented at Board level. We recognise that valuable Board experience comes in many forms and are keen to hear from individuals who can bring different perspectives, experiences and networks.
The appointment is for an initial three-year term and is unremunerated. The Board meets four times a year, with meetings held in person in Glasgow.
