Upmo is an Edinburgh-based charity providing support and opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and autism. For more than a decade, we’ve been combining tailored support services with an increasingly respected curriculum of creative workshops, educational activities and vocational programmes. We’re often asked what drives us and the answer is simple - a passionate belief that every person in society should be given the opportunities they need to develop their potential and play an equal, inclusive and rewarding role in their communities.
We are now seeking new Trustees to join our Board, to contribute knowledge, skills and fresh thinking to drive the organisation through the next stages of growth and development. We are interested in hearing from individuals from a range of different backgrounds who can contribute to a diversity of thought. All skills will be considered, with particular interest in those from Finance, Education, Social Care, and Fundraising backgrounds. However, if you are an innovative and forward-thinking individual who shares our core values, we would like to hear from you.
The time commitment for these positions will be 4 Board meetings per year, with additional meetings every two months initially, which will adjust to every three months once the board has integrated. Meetings can be facilitated flexibly through online platforms.
