A fantastic opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and driven individuals to join Bank of Scotland Foundation as Trustees. Trustees play a vital role, overseeing the Foundation’s governance, strategy, and impact. You’ll act as an ambassador for our work and help ensure we continue to deliver funding that is effective, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of Scotland’s communities.

We’re seeking Trustees to join our Board and make valuable contributions to our ambitious five-year strategy “Building a Brighter Future for Scotland.”  Through this five-year strategy, the needs, and aspirations of people in vulnerable circumstances will drive our work as we aim to fund, support and champion the small and local charities that work to improve their quality of life.

We have a range of unrestricted and multi-year funding programmes available and through collaboration with the Group, we’re also a source of added value for charities by offering strategic development support and colleague volunteers.

Who We’re Looking For

Whether you’ve worked in the charity sector, led community initiatives, or simply care deeply about making a difference, we want to hear from you.

We welcome interest from individuals with a wide range of skills and experiences. Previous Board/Trustee experience is desirable but not essential – we’ll support you to grow into the role.

Commitment

Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term and Board meetings take place quarterly in Edinburgh. In addition, occasional engagement activities also require participation from the Trustees, such as the Foundation’s Annual Reception and charity visits to hear first-hand the real difference our funding is making. There is no remuneration for this work, however all necessary travel and accommodation expenses will be fully reimbursed.
