Non-Executive Director - Wheatley Homes Glagow

Wheatley Homes Glasgow is looking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to its Board, offering an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Scotland’s largest social landlord.

With more than 43,000 homes across Glasgow, Wheatley Homes Glasgow plays a major role in providing high-quality homes and services, creating great neighbourhoods and supporting communities across the city. As part of Wheatley Group, it also benefits from the strength and expertise of one of the UK’s leading housing, care and property-management organisations.

With a new five-year strategy, Making Homes and Lives Better, now underway, this is an important time to join the Board.

We are looking for individuals who can bring fresh thinking, sound judgement and constructive challenge, alongside a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for customers and communities.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can bring skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Strategic or Executive Leadership
  • Scottish Social Housing
  • Development and Construction
  • Public Sector

You do not need to bring experience across every area. We are keen to attract individuals with different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences who can contribute effectively to a high-performing Board.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will help shape strategic direction, scrutinise organisational performance and contribute to effective governance, risk management and long-term financial sustainability. You will work constructively with fellow Board members and the senior leadership team while ensuring the interests of customers remain central to decision-making.

The commitment is approximately 10 days per year, including six Board meetings, an annual strategy workshop, development activity and Group-wide events. Board meetings are principally held on Fridays from 10.30am–12.30pm at Wheatley House in central Glasgow.

Appointments are for an initial three-year term, with a maximum tenure of nine years. These are voluntary, non-remunerated positions, with reasonable expenses paid.

If you have the experience, insight and commitment to help Wheatley Homes Glasgow continue Making Homes and Lives Better, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We hope that you have found the information on this site useful. For further information or a confidential discussion about the opportunity, please contact Paul Rooney at prooney@aspenpeople.co.uk or 07460 714893. Our office number is 0141 212 7555. We would be delighted to speak with you about the opportunity and answer any questions you may have before applying.
