Nursing and Midwifery Council Member - Scotland, Registrant
Please note that this role is only open to candidates who live or work, wholly or mainly, in Scotland and who hold current registration with the NMC.

We are seeking a new Council member with midwifery expertise.

We are enthusiastic about ensuring that our Council reflects the diversity of the professions we regulate, and the public they serve and are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all we do.

This is your chance to play a role in overseeing implementation of our ambitious new five year Strategy. We want to see safe, effective and kind nursing and midwifery care that improves everyone’s health and wellbeing. If you share that vision and our values of being fair, kind, collaborative and ambitious, you could help us make it a reality.

For this role, we are particularly looking for a current registrant who can bring the voice and perspective of midwifery to the Council’s work, as well as contribute across the wider range of Council business. In addition, you will be committed to upholding good governance and the values of public life.

You will be joining an ambitious, forward-thinking Council, who work collaboratively with the Executive team, to ensure our strategy makes a difference to the health and care of all our communities.

You will need to be able to devote 3 days a month to the Council; in return you will receive an annual allowance (currently £14,724 a year) and reasonable expenses.
