In its 422-year history, the college has worked tirelessly to advance the profession and improve patient care.  The charitable purpose of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (“the College”) has remained unchanged throughout its 400+ year history – to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients through increasing the standard and assessment of healthcare and how it is provided.

The role of Interim Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the strategic development and direction of communication and marketing priorities of the college. The role requires an integrated approach to developing and delivering leadership and operational implementation of strategies and actions plans for all public affairs, marketing, social media, web, and creative activity that drives local, national and international membership recruitment and retention, attendance at college education and assessment, engagement and income generation. The ideal candidate will additionally help to streamline the communications.

The Royal College are looking for a marketing and communications professional who can help establish the College’s positioning, voice and values framework. This should be someone with a strong strategic background on delivery of public affairs and PR activity, multi-channel marketing and internal communications. The right candidate will be an exceptional team manager who can look after a small marketing and communications team directly.
