We are delighted to be working in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College to appoint a new Health & Safety Lead – a key leadership position that will strengthen and enhance the College’s positive health and safety culture across its three campuses.
Glasgow Clyde College is a vibrant institution, home to around 7,000 full-time and 20,000 part-time students, supported by approximately 1,000 dedicated staff. With campuses in Anniesland, Cardonald and Langside, the College has a strong reputation for providing inspirational learning experiences that transform lives. Students consistently report feeling safe in their learning environment, and the Health & Safety Lead will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing this.
The Role
Reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, the Health & Safety Lead will be the College’s in-house expert for all matters relating to health and safety. The role will involve:
- Acting as the College’s health and safety specialist, providing professional advice and guidance.
- Leading on compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Analysing complex situations and information to develop practical solutions and clear recommendations.
- Supporting and fostering a positive culture of health and safety across staff, students, and the wider community.

The Person
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable health and safety professional with:
- Extensive experience in managing health and safety within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
