Aspen People are delighted to be working together with Glasgow School of Art to appoint a new Head of Corporate Governance.
The Principal Accountabilities for this role are:
- Governance
- Internal Audit
- Statutory, Regulatory & Legal Compliance
- Oversight of Committee Servicing
- Management of the Corporate Governance Team
The role:
The role involves providing high-quality professional support to the Secretary and Registrar to ensure effective governance at the Glasgow School of Art. This includes leading the corporate governance team, overseeing committee servicing to ensure best practice, maintaining records of statutory and regulatory compliance, and ensuring timely assurance to the Senior Leadership Group and the Board of Governors. Additionally, the role entails managing Internal Audit and coordinating with legal advisors on corporate governance issues. In the Secretary and Registrar's absence, the role includes deputising as Secretary to the Board of Governors and serving as the primary governance advisor to Board members.
The person:
You will have significant Governance experience, preferably within Higher Education or the Public Sector while being able to influence and lead change. This is an exciting time to join GSA! You’ll be part of a team and have line management responsibilities so experience of managing staff would need to be demonstrated.
