Grampian Housing Association is one of North East Scotland’s leading housing providers, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, affordable homes and customer-focused services. With a clear social purpose and an ambitious outlook, Grampian Housing Association plays a vital role in supporting sustainable communities across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Alongside Grampian Housing Association, the wider Group includes its subsidiaries Kirkgate Developments and TLC Housing Maintenance, each contributing to a diverse and evolving business model.

We are now seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Group Chief Executive. This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-regarded organisation through its next phase, shaping strategy, driving performance and ensuring that the Grampian Group continues to deliver for its tenants, customers and partners.

The housing sector is navigating a period of sustained change, with increasing regulatory expectations, financial pressures and rising demand for high-quality, affordable homes. Grampian Housing Association is not immune to these challenges and is operating within a particular economic climate that requires careful stewardship, strong governance and clear strategic direction. At the same time, there is a strong sense of purpose and optimism about the future. The organisation is well positioned to respond positively, with a clear vision, committed Board and dedicated staff team focused on delivering meaningful outcomes through The Grampian Deal for the tenants, customers and communities it serves.

As Group Chief Executive, you will provide leadership and vision across the organisation, working closely with the Board to shape and deliver the Group’s strategic direction, growth and long-term sustainability. You will ensure that robust governance, financial strength and effective risk management underpin all aspects of the business, while maintaining a clear focus on excellent customer service and continuous improvement. You will lead and inspire the Executive and wider staff team, fostering a culture that reflects Grampian Housing Association’s values of respect, integrity, commitment and empathy.

The role also carries significant external responsibilities. You will act as the principal ambassador for the Group, building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators, local and national government, lenders and partner organisations. You will identify and develop opportunities for growth and innovation, including through the effective use of the Group’s subsidiary companies, ensuring that Grampian continues to evolve in a way that supports its strategic objectives and benefits its customers.

We are looking for a proven senior executive with substantial experience in a regulated, customer-focused environment. You will bring a strong track record in strategic leadership, governance and organisational performance, alongside the ability to lead change and inspire confidence during periods of complexity. A sound understanding of housing policy, finance and risk is essential, as is the ability to build effective relationships at the highest level.

This is a pivotal moment for Grampian Housing Association. With solid foundations in place and a clear ambition to build and progress, this role offers the opportunity to lead an organisation that is adapting thoughtfully to change and moving forward with confidence. If you are motivated by purpose, leadership and the chance to make a lasting impact, we would be pleased to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion about the role, please contact Nigel Fortnum or David Currie at Aspen People on 0141 212 7555 or at enquiries@aspenpeople.co.uk.
