PFK Rural is a long-established, independent firm of chartered surveyors and rural land and property advisers with deep roots in Cumbria dating back to 1876. With a broad client base across farming, landowners and rural businesses, we are committed to serving rural communities with professionalism, accessibility and long-term strategic focus. Recognised for combining expert technical advice with genuinely personalised client service, we are excited to be adding to our team at Redhills Business Park in Penrith.
We are now seeking a Graduate Land Agent to join our Rural team in Penrith. This role is suited to a motivated graduate at the early stages of their professional career who is keen to develop as a rural surveyor within a well-respected practice. Working under the guidance of qualified colleagues and the Head of Rural, you will assist in the delivery of professional land agency and rural surveying services to clients with interests across the land and property sector.
The Graduate Land Agent will support the day-to-day work of the department, contributing to estate management, property management and consultancy instructions for private, corporate and institutional clients. As your experience develops, you will take on individual responsibilities as directed, applying your academic knowledge in a practical, client-focused environment. You will work within established departmental procedures designed to maintain high professional standards and foster a positive team culture, while also helping to ensure consistency of approach across the department.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of work and close collaboration with specialists across the wider PFK business, allowing you to gain insight into different disciplines and how they combine to add value for clients. You will be encouraged to contribute to the ongoing development of systems and processes and to play a part in promoting PFK Rural across the firm’s network of offices. There will also be opportunities to become involved in identifying new work and supporting business development activities as your confidence grows.
Applicants should be committed to pursuing professional qualifications with the RICS Rural pathway and demonstrate a genuine interest in rural property and land management. You will be well organised, keen to learn and able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. A proactive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to adapt and develop new skills are essential, alongside an appreciation of the commercial and regulatory environment in which rural property operates.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate seeking structured professional development, varied experience and long-term career progression within an established and forward-looking rural practice.
