Financial Controller
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 (pay review pending for 24/25, generous benefits, including defined benefit Strathclyde pension fund and 33 days annual leave in addition to 13 public holidays)

The role
The University is seeking to appoint a highly competent qualified accountant with strong management experience in complex working environments.  The role of Financial Controller will report to and support the Chief Financial Officer in delivering in the area of financial and statutory accounting & reporting. The Financial Controller leads and motivates the Treasury, Payroll, Operational Services (AP & AR) and Procurement teams with 3 direct reports and c25 staff.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with demonstrable strong technical financial accounting and tax knowledge and experience in preparing consolidated financial statements. You will have experience of working in a large and complex organisation with a strong track record in delivering process and system improvements. The University is seeking an individual with strong leadership skills, who can build and maintain cross organisational relationships.
