The role
 
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will play a key role in guiding the organisation through its next phase of growth and development. They will lead a team responsible for payroll, management, and statutory accounting, ensuring the effective running of financial operations and the professional development of team members.
 
Key responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts, annual reports, and budgets, supporting project work such as the implementation of the new finance system, and collaborating with stakeholders across the charity to provide financial insight. Additionally, the successful candidate will oversee compliance with financial regulations, manage audit processes, and contribute to developing a cost-effective procurement strategy.

The person
The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager role will be a fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA) with proven experience in managing a multidisciplinary finance team. They will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, allowing them to effectively engage with stakeholders across the organisation. The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. A thorough working knowledge of FRS102 is essential, along with leadership capabilities and business partnership skills. Experience in handling grant applications and claims is also required to ensure the effective management of financial resources.
An understanding of charitable organisations and relevant reporting schedules and/or experience of working with Netsuite is desirable but not essential.
