This is a high-impact, national role at the heart of Scotland’s efforts to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of health and social care.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished, forward-thinking leader to make a national impact. As a key member of the Executive Team, the Director will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction, corporate governance, and overall performance of the organisation. You will provide professional leadership for Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professional practice, and ensure the provision of high-quality clinical advice to the Board, Executive Team, and wider organisation.
You will provide executive leadership across several critical portfolios, including:
- Clinical and care governance, in partnership with the Medical Director
- Public protection and the management of complaints
- Improvement support for primary care and community health services
- Leadership of maternal healthcare as a national priority
- Oversight of the Health and Care Staffing Act, keeping staffing tools and methods effective and up to date.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong clinical background and a track record of influencing at senior levels. You will bring a passion for improvement and a commitment to delivering better outcomes for patients, families, and communities across Scotland.
