Milnbank Housing Association is a well-established, community-focused organisation at the heart of the north-east of Glasgow. With a strong local identity and a clear social purpose, Milnbank has built a reputation for delivering high-quality housing services alongside meaningful community initiatives that make a lasting difference to tenants’ lives. The Association’s commitment to excellence, accountability and local engagement continues to shape its work in an increasingly complex and fast-moving operating environment.
We are now seeking an outstanding individual to join our Leadership Team as Director of Housing and Community Initiatives. This is a pivotal role with responsibility for ensuring the delivery of efficient, high-quality housing management services while leading the Association’s wider community role. It offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, strengthen services and support the continued development of a thriving and resilient community.
Operating within a sector that continues to experience significant change, Milnbank is adapting to evolving regulatory expectations, increasing customer needs and wider economic pressures. This period of flux brings both challenge and opportunity, and it is encouraging to see the organisation responding with clarity of purpose and a renewed focus on performance, governance and community impact. The incoming Director will play a central role in sustaining this positive direction, ensuring that services remain responsive, effective and firmly aligned with the Association’s values.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across housing services and community initiatives, ensuring excellent standards in allocations, tenancy sustainment, estate management, rent performance and customer engagement. You will also lead the development of community-based activity, working closely with partners and stakeholders to expand opportunities that support tenants and enhance neighbourhoods. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will contribute to business planning, risk management and organisational performance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and governance requirements.
This role requires a confident and collaborative leader who can motivate teams, build strong relationships and maintain a clear focus on delivering for customers. You will bring substantial experience in housing management, alongside a strong understanding of the wider social and regulatory landscape. Just as importantly, you will demonstrate a genuine commitment to community, equality and continuous improvement.
Milnbank offers a rewarding and purposeful environment in which to make a tangible difference. At a time when the organisation is evolving and strengthening its approach, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive future and help shape services that meet the needs and aspirations of the communities we serve.
