The new Director of Finance will be a strategic thinker, focused on delivery and detail and be a role model for the values and ethical leadership behaviours that underpin our vision and Strategic Plan.  You will be able to demonstrate your considerable network experience and influencing skills – the role requires continued presence and positioning of the GSA at a range of internal committees as well as external sector networks such as Universities Scotland Finance Directors Group.
 
About You
 
The GSA is a small Higher Education Institute (HEI), and the ideal candidate will have a highly-developed understanding of the drivers of income and expenditure in a complex funding environment such as Higher Education. In addition, significant experience at senior financial management level within a complex organisation including developing, preparing and presenting financial information for Board, Executive budget holder and stakeholder use.
 
Holding a recognised professional accounting qualification, you will have a significant level of technical knowledge and expertise in governance, complex financial structures, procedures and processes. You will have substantial experience using financial IT systems, including reporting elements and have the ability to develop and work with detailed financial models and scenarios.
