Support, champion and help grow The Connect Hub
Flexible commitment | 3–4 gatherings per year | Scotland
Simon Community Scotland invites applications from women who wish to support and champion The Connect Hub through membership of its Development Board.
About The Connect Hub
The Connect Hub is a women-only service offering connection, support and opportunities to women who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. The service provides a welcoming environment shaped by lived experience, alongside access to wellbeing activities, learning opportunities and pathways into housing, health and employability support.
About the Development Board
The Development Board is a small, supportive group committed to helping The Connect Hub grow and reach more women.
This is not a governance or trustee role. Members do not hold legal, strategic or financial responsibilities. Instead, the Development Board provides informal support by:
- Championing the work and impact of The Connect Hub
- Opening doors to networks, partnerships and opportunities
- Offering insight, encouragement and perspective
The group works alongside service leadership and fundraising colleagues to strengthen sustainability, profile and opportunity for the women supported.
Role of Development Board Members
Members contribute in ways that reflect their interests, experience and availability. Contributions may include:
- Introducing the service to individuals, organisations or supporters
- Supporting events, awareness activity or partnership opportunities
- Sharing insights or expertise that support service development
- Acting as positive ambassadors for The Connect Hub
There are no financial expectations of individual members.
Commitment
Participation is flexible, meaningful and collaborative. Typically this includes:
- Attending 3–4 gatherings each year (in person or online)
- Supporting opportunities or introductions where possible
- Participating as part of a supportive group environment
All members will receive an induction and ongoing support.
Person Profile
Applications are welcomed from women who:
- Are committed to improving outcomes for women facing homelessness or multiple disadvantage
- Bring networks, experience or influence they are willing to share
- Are collaborative, positive and values-led
