The Commercial Services vision is to be recognised as a trusted partner enabling delivery of the SLC Corporate Strategy and value for our customers. This is achieved by working collaboratively and effectively with SLC customers, suppliers and other public bodies to develop and implement innovative, efficient and sustainable procurement practices that deliver value for money.

On average, SLC place 400 contracts and 150 Statement of Works per annum, currently SLC have 600 live contracts with a large portfolio value. The team is structured to support each of the company directorates.

As a public sector organisation, SLC is required to comply with Cabinet Office and HM Treasury controls. These are set out in the SLC Framework Document. The Framework Document is central to the governance of SLC and its responsibilities to government (principally the DfE and the Devolved Administrations). It details the remit of the SLC, how SLC should operate, what and how it should deliver its services and the governing protocols that the Company must adopt.
