Glen Oaks Housing Association
Chief Executive
Salary: £81523 - £84866 (SM 26-28)
Glasgow

Glen Oaks Housing Association is a community-based Registered Social Landlord dedicated to providing quality homes and service to its tenants. Formally established in 1991, Glen Oaks provides 1350 homes for rent to the local communities of Arden, Darnley and Pollok. Over the last 30 years, Glen Oaks has built up a strong reputation as an innovative community-controlled organisation which places customer service, financial viability and being an excellent employer at its heart.

This vacancy arises following the tragic and sudden loss of Alasdair McKee, who led Glen Oaks as its senior officer from its registration in 1991. Alasdair served Glen Oaks and the community with great distinction – his loss continues to be felt profoundly throughout the sector.

Glen Oaks, building on this legacy, have developed and delivered their vision of a thriving community supported by the provision of good quality affordable housing and an excellent service. The association prides themselves on encouraging resident participation and working with other agencies to regenerate their community, fully committed to their residents and the communities they live in.

Glen Oaks are looking to appoint a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its next chapter. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, ambassadorial, and decisive leader who will guide the organisation moving forward. The new Chief Executive will work with resilience and empathy to uphold and improve the high level of service delivered by Glen Oaks. The organisation is currently using a hybrid approach to working and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and advise on the success and implementation of this model.

As a candidate you will have substantial senior management experience with staff responsibilities and a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams through significant challenges and changes.  The Chief Executive will be responsible and accountable to the Board, providing thoughtful strategic and operational leadership ensuring the achievement of the organisational aims and values of Glen Oaks. Experience working with or at board or committee level is desirable for the fulfilment of the role. The role has further responsibility to the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) and so you will have a thorough and relevant knowledge of the general Scottish Social Housing environment including close understanding of the Regulatory Standards of Governance and Financial Management as issued by SHR.

Candidates are welcomed from outside of the sector but must demonstrate motivation and transferability to a community-focused RSL in their application.
