Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce
Chief Executive
Salary c.£65,000

The Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year and is the 3rd largest Chamber in Scotland after Aberdeen and Glasgow. Accredited by both the British and Scottish Chamber of Commerce; the Ayrshire Chamber is a not-for-profit membership organisation that supports over 800 businesses, in addition to the successful delivery of various projects including the Ayrshire arm of Developing the Young Workforce.

Ayrshire’s economy is diverse, with a mix of large and small business in the main towns of Ayr, Kilmarnock and Irvine and throughout a network of smaller towns across the three counties. We continue to represent all areas of economic activity from small retailers to SMEs, to the large corporate companies. Supporting enterprise and entrepreneurship is essential to ensure a growing, and diverse economy. We work with partners such as Scottish Enterprise, SDI, Business Gateway, Princes Trust, West Coast Accelerator, local authorities and educational institutions, as well as, most importantly, the business community to achieve this.

The Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce is made up of a small, but extremely hard-working team, dedicated and committed to providing our members with the opportunities to grow, develop and improve their business with an excellent range of services from networking, mentoring and platforms to make their business more visible and successful.

The board of directors are seeking a new CEO to lead the team and implement the ‘Forward Together’ strategy that will add value to members and wider stakeholders, resulting in a more prosperous, economic outlook for Ayrshire. We are seeking an ambitious, dynamic and people focused leader who will be a senior management professional with a proven track record of leading a business. You will have proven leadership skills, financial management and ability to implement strategy collaboratively and innovatively. The CEO will effectively and efficiently manage business operations on a day-to-day basis, supported by a highly motivated and skilled team, and will have exceptional people handling and communications skills. Building trusting relationships with members, key partners and stakeholders in a regional and national context will be critical.
