About Us

The Consumer Panel is an independent group of specialists dedicated to improving the experience of consumers of legal services. For over a decade, the Panel has influenced thinking across the legal sector on accessibility, vulnerability and fairness within the legal complaints and regulatory system.

Acting as a critical friend to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission, the Panel ensures the consumer voice remains central to policies, processes and decision-making. Through research, insight and advocacy, the Panel highlights what people need from legal services and champions consumer-focused reform across the sector.

As new legislation reshapes legal services regulation in Scotland, the Consumer Panel will play an increasingly important role in ensuring reforms reflect the real experiences of consumers.

Panel Members will contribute informed, consumer-focused insight to influence decision-making across the legal regulatory system.
