For over 30 years, Tullochan has supported young people and families through high-quality youth development, employability and community-based services that create meaningful pathways of opportunity.

Working across West Dunbartonshire and beyond, Tullochan delivers inclusive and impactful programmes that help young people build confidence, resilience and skills. Alongside its youth development work, the organisation also operates successful social enterprises which support long-term sustainability while providing valuable training and employability opportunities.

Following a sustained period of delivery and impact, Tullochan is now seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next phase of development.

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring Tullochan continues to deliver high-quality services while maintaining long-term sustainability and strong community impact.

Leading a committed staff team and volunteer network, the CEO will build on strong existing foundations while continuing to strengthen partnerships, organisational visibility and financial resilience within an increasingly challenging funding environment.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring an engaging and hands-on leader who can work effectively across staff teams, communities, partners and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction across the organisation
  • Ensuring the continued delivery of safe, high-quality and impactful services for young people and families
  • Leading financial sustainability, income generation and organisational development
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with funders, local authorities, partners and communities
  • Supporting and developing a positive, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture
  • Working closely with the Board to support strong governance, performance and strategic oversight
  • Acting as a visible ambassador for Tullochan across West Dunbartonshire and beyond

The Candidate

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking with strong operational and people leadership.

Candidates may already be operating at Chief Executive level or be looking to step into their first CEO role.

We welcome applications from individuals across the third, public or private sectors who can demonstrate transferable leadership experience within a values-led or community-focused environment.

You will bring:

  • Significant senior leadership experience within a complex organisation or service environment
  • Experience of leading teams, managing change and driving organisational performance
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness, including experience of budgets, sustainability and income generation
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of working with Boards, governance structures or senior leadership groups
  • The ability to operate both strategically and operationally within a smaller organisation
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people and communities

Given the visible nature of the role, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will maintain a strong presence within the organisation and local community, particularly during the early stages of appointment.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead a respected and community-focused organisation that has made a lasting difference to young people’s lives for more than three decades.

The successful candidate will join Tullochan at an important stage in its development, with the opportunity to build on strong foundations while shaping the organisation’s future sustainability, partnerships and impact.
