CentreStage Communities Ltd

Chief Executive

Kilmarnock

Salary on application

‘A stage for social change’

Established in 2006, CentreStage use the arts to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together.  It operates from the completely refurbished and fully accessible site of the former Kilmarnock Academy as Ayrshire’s Arts Academy, creating a cultural, social and community hub where people can come together, where the arts support aspiration, promote social inclusion and give hope. Our values are of Hope, Inclusion and Aspiration.

After completing Scotland’s largest Community Led Asset Transfer, the £5.2M regeneration of the former Kilmarnock Academy, CentreStage has emerged in the heart of the town; creating a fully accessible cultural, social and community destination where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together and enjoy  the opportunities we provide from classes and activities, theatre productions, food and beverage provision within our CAFÉ BAR, or to engage with wider services within the CentreStage ‘Neighbourhood’ provided by organisations complimenting our values including, Who Cares Scotland, East Ayrshire Tenant’s Federation and Flexible Childcare Services Scotland. At CentreStage, there is a space for everyone.

What we are looking for:

People make CentreStage and they are looking for a new Chief Executive to take them to the next level. This person will be a creative yet experienced leader who will build on the strong foundations of the charity and work with the Board of Trustees, team, and stakeholders. They will oversee strategy development and utilise the space for commercial opportunity; helping to pour business back into the organisation to make peoples lives better. They’ll be a visible presence to the team and network efficiently to maximise CentreStage’s name and growth potential.

Who you are:

We are looking for an individual with hand-on experience at a senior level with a passion for people. You do not necessarily need to come from an arts background but an understanding of what CentreStage do and an enthusiasm for their vision and ethos is essential. The following skills will also be important for this role:

  • Commercially savvy – knowledge of third or public sector funding and a track record of securing funding for projects.
  • Financial stewardship including securing sufficient financial resources to meet the strategic and operation targets.
  • Working with Boards of Trustees – fulfilling legal and constitutional responsibilities
  • Entrepreneurial flair or social enterprise experience.
  • Ability to network with stakeholders and think outside the box.
  • Experience working for a sizeable organisation or over a large site.

Interested? We’d love to hear from you!
