Join Age Scotland and Make a Difference to Scotland’s Support for Older People

Are you interested in making Scotland the best place in the world to grow older? Age Scotland, the national charity dedicated to improving the lives of everyone over the age of 50, is looking for skilled individuals to join our organisation as a Board member.

At Age Scotland, we strive to inspire, advise, involve, and engage older people, influencing decision-makers to create positive change. From tackling loneliness and isolation to advocating for better access to health and social care, our mission is to ensure that every older person in Scotland can live their best life.

As we face unprecedented challenges, including the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, the need for passionate and committed individuals to support our cause has never been greater. By joining our board, you'll have the opportunity to shape our strategic direction, contribute to policy development, and make a real impact on the lives of older people across Scotland.

Meaningful Impact: Be part of an organisation that makes a tangible difference in the lives of older people, their families, and carers.

Collaborative Environment: Work alongside dedicated professionals and volunteers who are committed to our mission.

Personal Growth: Gain valuable experience in governance, strategy development, and advocacy while contributing to the welfare of older people.

We welcome applications from any individuals who bring diverse perspectives, skills, and experience to our team. In particular, we have a current need for a skillset around fundraising, development or income generation. Previous board experience is not essential, as we provide comprehensive induction and support to all new members. The board sits four times per year, with an additional strategy day.

If you're passionate about supporting older people and have the skills and commitment to contribute to our cause, we want to hear from you. Together, we can create a Scotland where everyone can enjoy a fulfilling and dignified later life.

For a confidential discussion regarding the role, please contact Catriona Mackie or David Currie at Aspen People on 0141 212 7555.
