Renfrewshire Leisure is a vibrant and ambitious culture and leisure charitable company which delivers cultural and leisure services and experiences across Renfrewshire.  They deliver a year-round programme of cultural and leisure activities and services to c. 3 million customers visiting their libraries, museums, community centres, swimming pools and leisure facilities. 

Renfrewshire Leisure will drive a number of significant cultural opportunities over the next few years, as part of the culture-led regeneration of Paisley and Renfrewshire.  They will be instrumental in positioning Paisley as a new cultural centre.  Following Paisley’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2021, a £100m programme of renewal of the cultural infrastructure and public realm is being implemented, with nearly £75m investment in venues we manage. 

They currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit a minimum of three Independent Directors to join the Board of Renfrewshire Leisure due to a recent retiral and to ensure a strong balance of expertise and representation.  They are seeking individuals who can support the charity in enriching the lives of people who live, work and visit Renfrewshire, and who can bring with them skills and experience that would help the organisation grow and develop into the future. 

They are particularly interested in applications from individuals with the following backgrounds, skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Strategic Arts and Cultural Development
  • HR and Employee Relations
  • Marketing, Comms and Public Relations
  • Commercial Development

The role of a Director is to direct the affairs of the charity through efficient, effective and accountable governance, ensuring that the organisation is professionally run and acts in accordance with its stated aims and objectives.

This is an unpaid role however reasonable expenses will be paid for travel to meetings and agreed out of pocket expenditure.
