The champion of stories and storytellers, Traverse Theatre is Scotland’s new writing theatre. Bringing the festival spirit to all audiences, all year round, for six decades. With a reputation for exploring the unexplored, Traverse Theatre invites you to join them in nurturing Scottish talent as they are propelled into their seventh decade.

To mark their 60th anniversary, Traverse Theatre are recruiting remarkable individuals with a passion for challenge and change to embrace the role of Trustee. Traverse Theatre is proud to be the home of the timely, powerful stories that start life on their stages; these stories have a global impact, often resulting in dozens of tours, productions, and translations. Traverse Theatre are critically acclaimed and recognised the world over for originality and artistic risk.

Traverse Trustees should be able to think strategically, listen to advice, make sound judgements and express opinions. They will have artistic awareness and be able to appreciate a range of theatre work (of their own taste or otherwise) and its relevance, value and merits to the organisation and audiences. Traverse Trustees will excel in advocacy and influencing skills and the ability to network effectively and make a positive impression on others on behalf of the company. They will be characterised by their willingness to offer own relevant professional knowledge and advice in board meetings to contribute to debate and decisions.
