Management Accountant

Port Glasgow

£46,571 - 60,970

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) owns the ferries, ports and harbours and infrastructure necessary for vital ferry services serving the west coast of Scotland, the Clyde Estuary, and the Northern Isles. Wholly owned by the Scottish Government, CMAL operates through headquarters in Port Glasgow to maintain and invest in the assets and facilities that underpin ferry transport and connect Scotland’s communities. CMAL currently has an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to take on the role of Management Accountant in this expanding organisation.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the position will be involved in the preparation of management accounts, budgets, and year-end accounts. The post holder’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts, performance reports and cash flow statements
  • Preparing financial statements for the Annual Report
  • Ensuring the completion of all Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing annual budgets and in-year expenditure forecasts, producing analysis of budget lines and communicating with stakeholders in the business.

The post holder must hold relevant qualifications and have experience of complex accounting challenges associated with a large and diverse asset base. In particular, the post holder will be a team player with the ability to integrate into the existing team by communicating effectively and employing good interpersonal skills. In return, CMAL offers a modern and flexible working environment and generous pension and employment benefits.
