Interim Secretary

Remote working and flexible working arrangements / until February 2023

Aspen People are working closely with a leading Glasgow educational institution to find an Interim Secretary to provide senior Secretariat expertise on corporate governance to ensure the Board is supported in the appropriate discharge of its duties. Working closely with the Chair, this Interim Secretary role will provide key support to the board, assisting with procedures and allowing the board to operate efficiently. Alongside this, they will make sure the school complies with all key statutory, regulatory, and procedural requirements relating to constitutional matters and corporate governance. They will work closely with the senior leadership group to ensure there is clear understanding of the information and detail required for robust governance and reporting to Board Committees.

Providing interim leadership, senior expertise and coaching support to the Corporate Governance team, the Interim Secretary will also provide insight and strategy into shaping a permanent secretary role.

The right candidate will be a first-class communicator with a clear understanding of corporate governance procedures and experience of working closely with boards at a senior level. They will understand regulation and compliance, and in an educational setting would be desirable. They will be able to assist with changes around governance procedures and make improvements for the sake of the board and educational institution.

The role will be until February 2023 with flexibility in the working arrangements, e.g. remote working and flexible/ part time hours.
