The Mungo Foundation is a leading charity operating across Glasgow and neighbouring authorities and provide specialist social care services to more than 1000 people across the lifespan via our team of 700. The scope of our service extends from provision of short-break and outreach support for families, children & young people; residential building based respite services for adults; tenancy support to young adults who are at risk of homelessness, including young unaccompanied asylum seekers; small group home residential care services for adults and older people, as well as  a wide range of community and housing support services targeted at empowering individuals, touched by disability, illness, addiction and injustice. Regardless of age, need or circumstance, our inclusive approach seeks to transform the lives of the people we serve and the comminutes in which we operate.

With the need for transformation of social care that deliver sustainable and impactful services, we are looking for an individual to join our Executive Team as our Director of Operations.  As we deploy our 2021-2022 COVID roadmap we seek a social care professional aligned with our ambition, who is passionate about our goals and capable of leading the strategic delivery of our operational plans. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is key in leading a programme of operational change that will support the organisation for the next phase of its evolution putting those who use service, and staff at the centre of its priorities and deal with the financial implications arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our Director of Operations is responsible for providing operational leadership across services, to those who use our service, and our teams. The individual will support the improvement of services through the implementation of our strategic plan and delivery of our operational objectives. It is imperative that our Director of Operations grows relationships with external stakeholders including commissioners, local authorities, lived experience groups and people we support participating in external planning activities to promote the organisation and to contribute to the development of commissioning strategies with a view to future business opportunities.

The successful candidate will have experience at a strategic level, and ability to deploy resources that assure high standards of service are reached and opportunities for service development, transformation and growth are maximized. The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record in people management and development, in-depth knowledge of social care regulations and strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
