Director of Commercialisation & Skills
Salary: c.£65,000
Location: Falkirk with Flexibility
 
Forth Valley College are a leading provider of further and higher education offering a wide range of courses and training opportunities. We welcome approximately 14,500 students per academic season with a dynamic provision ranging from access to degree level and includes full time and part time courses, flexible and online learning, vocational qualifications and business training courses. We were Scotland’s first regional college with state-of-the-art campuses across the central belt in Alloa, Falkirk and Stirling.
Forth Valley College has designed roles and structured departments to underpin their mission for “Making Learning Work”. We have since created the new role of the Director of Commercialisation & Skills to strategically lead and direct the development of commercial income, non SFC GIA funding and SDS Modern Apprenticeship income. This Director will develop significant profile and influence within and beyond the College, demonstrating positive stakeholder engagement with learners, employers and communities.
Reporting to the Vice Principal of Finance and Corporate Services, this individual will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the Commercialisation & Skills strategy, implementing strategic initiative to maximise commercial or skills opportunities and develop and manage a dynamic portfolio of commercial training programmes and services.
The ideal candidate will have experience of developing business development strategies, track record of achieving growth in commercial revenues and strong stakeholder management skills. You should be commercial astute, with the ability to influence and negotiate. The successful individual should have experience of managing and developing a team.
Knowledge of the sector is beneficial, but we are also happy to consider individuals who would like to move into the Education sector.  This is a flexible position, requiring attendance in the Falkirk office on 2 days per week.
