Link Group is a group of like-minded companies, that create positive change in people’s lives. As well as providing affordable homes and services to around 15,000 people, Link is the parent company to a group comprising of four other housing associations, a support and care company and a company which employs their in-house trades teams and provides other services on a commercial basis. In addition to the hugely important aspect of Link’s activities which provides homes for people to live in, the group’s ethos is to encourage and support people to thrive within their communities.

This will include overseeing the efficient operation of the Board, ensuring that all board members work together effectively and have the confidence in how the group operates and interacts with others.  The Chair will ensure that all Board members apply the highest standards of corporate governance and observe the accepted principles of public life and that all partner boards and sub-committees play their vital role in ensuring strong governance.

The Chair will ensure that the Board is forward-thinking, focussing on issues which it needs to discuss to maintain its ambition and ensure delivery of strategic objectives.

In addition the Chair will ensure that Link Group is well connected to its stakeholders across the group of companies, including staff and customers.   The Chair will establish a strong working relationship with the Group CEO, and where appropriate, will play an ambassadorial role on behalf of Link Group.

The successful candidate will understand the non-executive role, with good governance insight.  Prior vice chair/chair experience will be advantageous, and prior Board experience is essential. In addition you will be adept at chairing meetings, providing focus, manage contributions and facilitate inclusive engagement.  You will have pertinent insights into governance in the housing sector, voluntary and community with a political awareness gained within a relevant sector.

This is a unique opportunity to lead one of Scotland’s largest social housing and support providers, which is committed to changing people’s lives for the better.,
