Board Appointments

Borders College has one of the best records for learner success in Scotland and makes an essential contribution to the Borders Region and beyond.  They are seeking new members to join their Regional Board to help ensure that they continue that success.

They are looking for individuals who share their commitment to providing the best possible learning experience, and who can represent the interests of the Borders economy and communities.

Candidates with a strong professional background and experience in:

  • Tourism
  • Economic development
  • The rural economy
  • Finance and Audit

are particularly sought, an interest in environment and sustainability or property would be an added bonus.   However, applications are also welcome from those with experience of the key sectors across the Borders economy as well as the broader needs of the education, public, private and third sectors in the Region.

In addition, the Board is especially keen to hear from a diverse range of people who are currently under represented on Boards of Scottish public bodies.

Some prior experience of governance is not essential but is desirable, training and mentoring is available and an induction programme is provided to new members.  Members are expected to serve on at least one of the Board’s committees as well as Board Meetings.

These roles are not remunerated.

If you think you could add skills to the Board and help Borders College thrive, then get in touch with Donogh O’Brien or Kate Kennedy for a confidential chat on 0141 212 7555.
