South Ayrshire Council plays a leading role across our area, shaping the places people live and work in. Our Strategic Economic Plan: Vision 2030 sets out our ambitions for our local economy by creating Great Places, Strong Businesses and Good Growth.
 
As one of three Co-ordinators within the Economy & Regeneration service and reporting directly to the Service Lead, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of Vision 2030 and the Ayrshire Growth Deal. The Deal presents a major opportunity to strengthen the Ayrshire, Scottish and UK economies. Targeted co-ordinated investment throughout the region will act as a powerful catalyst to stimulate growth, resulting in increased job opportunities and prosperity for Ayrshire, for Scotland and for the UK as a whole. You will lead on the delivery of strategic plans and co-ordinate a range of high-quality services which ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
 
You will lead on the development and implementation of all aspects of the £94million South Ayrshire Programme of projects within the Ayrshire Growth Deal. Working with and influencing stakeholders, businesses and community partners you will design, implement and maximise the economic impact of the AGD investment in South Ayrshire. You will also represent the Council’s interests in respect of the AGD, building relationships with national bodies, agencies and regional partners.
 
We welcome applications with experience of economic development with experience in either the private or public sectors. Project management experience is also essential.
 
Candidates should be able demonstrate expertise and experience in the delivery of local economic development, including regeneration schemes, and an understanding of the challenges of working in the public sector. The successful candidate must be a team player, persuasive and articulate, with the confidence to hold their own in a challenging environment.
 
Applicants should possess good IT, communication and customer service skills, and be willing to work flexibly across a variety of disciplines.
